11. Date 10/3. I intended to send the Persian Rew opium

because I hear that the price in Hongkong was $2.30, but your letter informed me that only $2.05 or $2.10 could be obtained. The cost price of these goods in Chek Hem is 81.90

(i.e. per tael) Owing to being so short of money I have been

forced to sell at cost price. As I can't make any provit by sending the opium to Hongkong I think I had better sell at cost price in Chek Ham. Very few goods are coming from Pak-

hoi. The last lot of Big Sugar I expect you have already sold. I am sending 100 tins of No.1 to Ah Ping through Fook Kei. The market price for Big Sugar at Chek Hem is 87,560 to

87,570.

12.a. Date 26/3. The 20 balle (?) of Big Sugar sent you per 8.8. "Hok Centon" are to be divided thus 10 for Tin Shiry 3 each for yourself myself and Ah Ping and I for Kat Kei. Yesterday I received your letter repoting the sale of your stock of 6 balls. I can't make out why you can't sell your goode like the others, we have 26 balla in stock, hurry up and dispose of some and remit to Chak Han.
